This study is divided into two parts. The first part is on Fred Burnaby who was an English officer and traveller. Burnaby was a religious Englishman. He travelled to many different countries beside Asia Minor. The main reason for his coming to Anatolia was that he heard some news about the Christians who were impaled by the Turks in Anatolia and then he decided to make a travel there to determine whether those rumors were true or not. His opinions about Anatolia, Turks and Islam and some other points such as climate, accommodation, route are tackled in the first part. in the second part, another traveller, Sir John Mandeville takes place. Mandeville was an English knight. He was also a conservative Christian. He travelled to many countries as well as Anatolia. His first aim was to go and visit the Christian Holy Land, which is in Jerusalem. While going there, he also passed Asia Minor and wrote about Anatolia, Turks and lslam, too. His other ideas on Muslims, minorities and other elements are also dealt with briefly in the second chapter.
